We believe watching a film on the big screen – whether with friends, family or by yourself – is one of life’s greatest pleasures, and that it should continue to remain a uniquely immersive experience without the distraction of people talking and mobile phones.
On a visit to Phoenix, you can expect a warm welcome from our friendly team, comfy seats, fairly priced tickets, and flawless projection. Whether it’s in crystal-clear digital format, 3D, or glorious 35mm, we truly care about how the image looks on screen. If you see anything awry, tell us and we will fix it. We’re truly independent at Phoenix, with complete control over what we show.
Our film programme is curated entirely by Phoenix staff who live and work in the area. This means we’re free to screen films which may only attract modest audiences – but would not otherwise be seen in Leicester – through to more mainstream crowd-pleasers playing to a sold-out auditorium.
We show around thirty films across our four screens every month, so everyone should be able to find something of interest. Alongside our core cinema programme, we host special events which entertain, educate, and involve people in particular themes – local and national festivals, double bills, triple bills, and even all-night movie marathons.
Our Stage on Screen programme features productions from the likes of National Theatre Live, English National Opera and Exhibition on Screen, beamed onto our big screen – a wonderful way for our customers to see world-class theatre and exhibitions right here in Leicester for a fraction of the price.
