Hospitality Operations Manager

We are seeking a full-time Hospitality Operations Manager to lead Phoenix's Food & Beverage, and Hires & Conferencing operations, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction.

Hospitality Operations Manager

Phoenix provides a popular programme of world cinema, digital arts, courses, and community events in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter. Phoenix Café Bar is a hub for many who live and work in city as well as cinema and gallery visitors. Demand fluctuates owing to attendances at popular events and the kitchen and service team must respond effectively. The venue is open to the public Thursday – Monday with food being served from 11am/12pm to 8.30pm. In addition, the Café Bar provides food and drink to our conferencing and hires offer, which sees many businesses and community organisations enjoy the stimulating contemporary environment for conferencing, training, networking and social events.

An £8.5M redevelopment of the venue opened in January 2023, including a new commercial kitchen, expanded and refurbished Café Bar and new Roof Garden Terrace with a bar and events space. Phoenix Café Bar has built into one of the most popular places to eat, drink and relax in the Leicester area. We cater for a wide range and demographic of people and are developing a significant conferencing and hires business. We aim to grow the Food & Beverage business to a highly popular and profitable £1M turnover business within 3 years.

The Phoenix Food & Beverage business is mostly driven by cinema goers and hires customers, with significant opportunity to develop as a destination of itself. The venue has no natural footfall, and the offer needs to attract customers to choose Phoenix over other significant city centre competition. Phoenix prides itself on its consistently achieved 5 star food hygiene rating.

We are seeking a Hospitality Operations Manager to help drive the business forward and establish Phoenix as the go-to destination for quality fresh food and drink. An exciting opportunity to help shape and develop the organisation.

We are working hard to make sure that Phoenix is an inclusive and welcoming place for everyone – a place that is representative of the communities we serve that celebrates diversity and provides equality of opportunity.

We particularly welcome applications from Asian, Black, and Minority Ethnic candidates, candidates with disabilities, and female candidates.
