Hold Tight Raver explores the rave scene in Leicester and the Midlands between 1988 and 1994 with a backdrop of house, jungle techno, breakbeat hardcore and drum and bass.
The documentary features interviews on the scene’s music, dancing, networks, artwork, and spaces with DJs and punters reflecting on how their lives have revolved around rave, creating profound experiences that still echo in their lives now.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the makers, then DJ sets from Ojay, Mastersafe and Cutz.
There will be an Algorave in Screen 4, a rave room installation where you can relax and watch rave visuals and listen to old school tapes, flyers on display for you to look at and hold, and an exhibition of rave memorabilia. Hold Tight Ravers!!
