THE SOCIAL CINEMA + Short Film Competition!

Mulholland Drive | Fri 7 June, 8pm

WHAT IS SOCIAL CINEMA?

Whilst some films demand the auditorium experience, other movies are just plain better with a group of friends and lots of food and drink. Every month we screen a classic, cult or world cinema picture with a more social, interactive edge in our Cafe Bar. For each of these cabaret screenings there’ll be music, a specially tailored menu, food and drinks offers and even sofas for the early birds bookers: consider it your front room with a big screen and a fully stocked bar!

SHORT FILM COMPETITION
CLICK HERE to download the submission guidelines and entry form PDF, or email alan.morton@phoenix.org.uk for a word version.

For our David Lynch special we are working with Short Cinema to present a short film competition, and this is where all you budding film makers come in!

We're looking for short films (between 2-5mins in length) that take as their starting point three of David Lynch's favourite things: 'Absurdity', 'Dreams' and 'Coffee'. Where you go from that starting point is up to you, with the brief open to documentary, animation and fiction film. The best short films will be screened at our end of run show on the 7th and then at specified special screenings afterwards in the Phoenix screen room (dates TBC), plus they will automatically be entered into the next Short Cinema event.
